I'm a Balatro YouTuber now (April Cools)

My new video "beating all 28 Boss Blinds in one run" is my contribution to April Cools' Club this year, an initiative to create something unusual-to-you, 100% sincere, and up to your usual standards of quality. Balatro videos are my comfort content when I need to sleep or unfocus, and it feels nice to pitch in my own contribution to that genre.

This is probably the only time I will ever make something like this, and that's okay!

This entire endeavor can be attributed to a Twitch chat message from about a week ago, asking a Balatro streamer whether there was a documented "all bosses" run. That single message nerdsniped me into not only completing the run, but also recording it, editing it, and doing voiceover & graphics for the video.

Sharing this run with world is also my way of, hopefully, signaling to regular Balatro content creators that they do not need to do this. Relax. We've answered the question of if we could, and I'm pretty sure the answer to if you should is no. The challenge run is interesting from a theorycrafting perspective, but executing it teaches you just how inconsequential most bosses are for endless-viable builds. It turns out to be a normal endless run with a voucher side quest and some pure-RNG failure modes stapled onto it.

But enough about the game. I learned a lot from the video editing process, which will help with my standard creative endeavors in the future. I enjoyed getting to weave a little narrative out of the run through the script & stick little jokes here and there. I'm also happy I put my voice online for the first time in 7 years. Carrying this weird, inconsequential project over the finish line is a huge W for me, no matter how you look at it.

All that said - wow, I am so glad this project is complete. I'm exhausted of thinking about this run. I'm over my video editor's incessant crashing. This was exactly the break I needed from FL Studio; I wouldn't have had it a day longer.
