Goodbye and good riddance, Spotify

Posted 2025-07-27 #my music

As of today, I've pulled my music catalog from Spotify. I refuse to be an accomplice to the murderous whims of a CEO who's gotten far too comfortable flaunting his stolen wealth and moral bankruptcy. If you publish music on streaming platforms, I think you should follow suit. Compromising on human rights isn't worth any amount of money, but especially not the table scraps Spotify pays artists like us.

Red Means Recording explains the details better than I could

If you listened to my music on Spotify, I have a few things to say:

  • Thanks for enjoying my music, and sorry for the inconvenience.
  • If I were you, I would strongly consider finding another platform for listening to music. I am not the right person to ask for recommendations here, unless you're interested in building a local music collection on your hard drive.
  • Buying songs on Bandcamp is the best way to support me & many other small artists, and a great way to start building a local music collection as mentioned above.

Here's hoping to a brighter, more peaceful world.
